  • The Nest is Waynesburg University's official on-campus spirit apparel store. Opening in 2021, the store features an assortment of Waynesburg University apparel, merchandise, and items produced by our campus community.

In 2022, the Nest transitioned to a student-operated learning lab under the management of the Entrepreneurial Leadership Program and eHIVE. The Nest allows students to gain real-world business experience in a safe learning-lab environment. Daily operation of the store is managed by a graduate assistant, student managers, and a staff of sales associates. Students take an active role in all operational and buying decisions for the store. The Nest also works as a "client" for project-based learning and partners with various professors to offer unique learning experiences for students. We also showcase products made by our faculty, staff, and students, allowing students to test market their products.

  • The second floor of The Nest, called Rudy’s Place, offers games and a gathering space for Waynesburg University students. Rudy’s Place is outfitted with video and arcade games, including Avengers and Star Wars pinball, dartboard, pop-a-shot, bubble hockey, a foosball table, etc., and two large screen televisions!

Renovations to establish The Nest and Rudy's Place were made possible through a generous donation from a 1974 alumnus, Dennis Ellis. Ellis established his gift as a way to honor Rudy Marisa for his guidance, mentorship and coaching, both on and off the court. Rudy Marisa was a former Waynesburg men's basketball coach and director of athletics, who spent 34 years as the head of the Yellow Jackets program, making it a national powerhouse in the 1980's.
